Last year, Sustainable Fashion Week Zeeland put the spotlight on sustainable fashion, inspiring people to rethink their wardrobes in a more eco-friendly way. The week was packed with events promoting recycling, upcycling, and repairing clothes, proving that fashion and sustainability can go hand in hand. From March 11th to 16th, participants joined various activities, including a Clothes Swap, where people could exchange pre-loved items, and a Kilo Sale Pop-up store at HZ Vlissingen, offering second-hand fashion by the kilo. Repair Cafés gave visitors the opportunity to mend and extend the life of their favorite garments, while a Trashion Fashion Show showcased creative outfits made from upcycled materials. There was even a jewelry-making demonstration using leftover materials, highlighting innovative ways to reduce fashion waste. Throughout the week, students and visitors also had the chance to watch The True Cost, a powerful documentary about the impact of fast fashion on the environment and workers worldwide. Sustainable Fashion Week Zeeland was a huge success, showing how small changes in our clothing habits can make a big difference for the planet. Did you take part? If not, make sure to join the next edition and be part of the movement towards a greener fashion future! 👕♻️🌍
